10/30/08 1 CommentA Night to Remember
This is the first chance I've had to blog lately, but... Carrie and Little Big Town were so AWESOME on Friday, 10/24. Even though I didn't get the Meet and Greet, it was still amazing. Me, my wife, and my daughters were on the front row, so the view was great. We got some great pics. I also talked the security guy (who I had met at a DAUGHTRY concert) into giving me his copy of the set list. Here is one of the pics... enjoy.

Looks like I struck out this time around... I am so bummed out. But, life goes on. I'm still excited about seeing Carrie on Friday night.

Looks like the hopes of a meet and greet are fading quickly. I'm happy for those who will get that treasured moment, but I am definitely disappointed. My fingers are still crossed, though... just in case!

As the Winston-Salem concert quickly approaches, I still have my fingers crossed for the Meet and Greet opportunity. What would a meet and greet be like? What would I say and do? What would Carrie say and do? What gift should I give her?
I'm not completely sure why I'm so excited about the chance of meeting Carrie. I mean, there is the obvious reason... she's only the most talented singer on the planet! But I really think it's much more than that. Carrie's rise to stardom gives us all the reassurance we need to realize that dreams really do come true. If a bright, young lady from Checotah, Oklahoma can become an instant country music sensation, then maybe there's still hope for this guy from North Carolina. I'll never be rich or famous, but it feels good to be able to still dream and chase those dreams.
So, if I get the opportunity to meet Carrie, the first thing I'll do is thank her... for her music and her inspiration. She is a great example of the American Dream. And despite these troubled times we live in, the Dream is alive!
